Physiotherapists are university-educated health professionals, with extensive training in human anatomy, biomechanics, pathology and physiology.

The physiotherapists at Albert Street Sports & Spinal Injury Centre have a special interest in the assessment and management of sporting and non-sporting related injuries – the so-called field of musculoskeletal injuries. They are highly skilled at diagnosing your injury and then plan and implement an appropriate treatment program, to resolve the problem and restore movement and function to the highest possible level.

What conditions do physiotherapists treat?

  • Joint pain

  • Hip & Pelvic pain – including pregnancy related

  • Sports Injuries

  • Ligament sprains & tears

  • Tendon injuries

  • Arthritis – osteoarthritis of any joint in the body

Physiotherapy management of your injury may include:

  • Joint mobilisation (NOT manipulation)

  • Soft tissue release

  • Taping and/or Bracing

  • Clinical exercise programs, including Clinical Pilates & traditional Strength & Conditioning exercises

  • Electrotherapy modalities – ultrasound, TENS etc.
